ACT Roads Strategic Business Case

Australian Capital Territory

Aestra was engaged by the ACT Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate (TCCS) to support the development of a strategic business case for the upgrade of ACT roads.

The ACT road network comprises approximately 3,200 kilometres of sealed roads and is the ACT’s third largest infrastructure asset. The ACT community and broader region rely on a good quality and safe road network for the movement of goods and the provision of services. TCCS is responsible for managing the Territory’s road network. Like all assets, roads begin to deteriorate as soon as they are constructed.

TCCS had identified the need to implement early intervention and improved planning to enable more proactive road maintenance. We supported the development of a well-argued strategic business case to government to accompany a whole-of-government submission.

The strategic business case was approved by the government and TCCS program of strategic road upgrades commenced in December 2022.
